Furniture

This is the fireplace we have chosen. We are also going to put our new 46" sony above it. It is as thin as a photo frame. its awesome. We got it at about 40% off. It hasn't arrived yet butt we can't wait. As you can see the frame is white which will complement the lounge & dining chairs & the silver frame will complement the fireplace.

Thought I would put a few updates in about the furniture.. We have purchased a gorgeous off white lounge from domayne, I cant find a photo of it but it is just gorgeous. In addition to that here is a photo of our new dining suite.

We are going to keep the furniture a dark chocolate colour.
The chairs are white leather.. I hope they are easy to keep clean!
These are our bar stools. The rattan top of the seat swivels 360 degrees... they are awesome.
The will look great under our 70mm bench top.

Week 7 (5th-Oct - 11th October)

Week 7...

Bricks have arrived on site.. I am hoping they will start this week.. although we are expecting a few rainy days, so I am expecting it will be held up a little.
We were pleased the bricks were on site as we were told they would be delayed until 10th October.. so all going well I will update some bricking photos soon!

As far as bricks go we chose Austral bricks in homestead tan. We have also selected off white mortar, flush to the edge of the brick.

Week 6 (28th Sept - 2nd October)

Frame is all completed & they commenced all of the fascia & roof tiling this week. We used monument fascia & gutter & our roof tiles are bristile charcoal shingles. We are pretty happy with.. Its starting to all come together.

Flooring

We spent the weekend finalising our flooring.. We are going to go with Karndean. It is a heavy duty Vinyl that looks like timber. With 2 little people under 4 we needed somthing hard wearing.

We had originally chosen a really light colour, however after another trip to the Karndean showroom in knoxfield we have decided on a much darker look. Looks like wood & hopefully it will be perfect. What do you think?

Weeks 4-5 (14th -25th Sept)

Well Week 4.. Our frame commenced on Friday th 18th. Basically they spent the full today putting everything together as nothing is prefabricated. Today Monday the 21st it looks fantastic.. I cant believe how much they can knock over in a day.

Week 3 (7th -11th Sept)

Over the last couple of weeks they have laid our slab ( & what a beautiful piece of concrete it is)!!!

They laid the slab Thursday the 10th Sept.

Welcome to our blog while we build the Lexington with Henley with the Edison Facade (pictured below) We have gone for a half render which is render to all pillars & the bottom half & strip. We started the process about 6 months ago, & after contract signing, colours etc etc we have finally commenced construction.
I decided to start a blog becuase I have spent so many hours trawling through everybody elses & I have found them really helpful.

Our official start date was in the last week of August 2009.

Here is a picture of our floorplan(below). We have only added alfresco at the back. Other than that we didnt make anystructual changes.

This week (week 2)
We are expecting the slab to be laid. Site is almost ready with any luck they will lay it tomorrow (8th September).

I will pop back in & try to update it regularly. I will also come & list our brick choice & all of our colour choices & upgrades soon.
